Around noontime, I arrived at Harrison Tower to spend time with Charlotte.
(my ol' roommate)
We grabbed a cup o' joe, and went to Buffalo Exchange.
She had gone there the day before, with 2 giant bags and little luck.
This time I brought one of her bags in and got her $60.
She was grateful, but all I did was just stand around really.
We had some sushi for lunch.
At Powells, I bought a book on cocktails.
Then we just laid on the grass in the park and talked. The weather was nice.
I had to block my eyes from the sun.
I was wearing shorts and felt the heat on my legs.
Back at the apartment
We painted empty wine bottles,
watched Serendipity (which made me think a lot about fate),
while eating potatoes with ketchup.
Charlotte found out she is going to Spain and staying there.
Fallon finally found a place to live.
What a happy day.
We went to Brian's little shanty of a house.
I had 2 pints of PBR and we all watched Scarface
(two movies i've never seen until now, dude).
During the flick, our former RA came to visit
It was funny to be drinking around him
and hear him joke so casually about marijuana.
It was cold when we walked back to the apartment,
but I wasn't sober and it didn't faze me.
We ate super dry crackers to soak up the sticky beer taste in the back of our throats.
I slept on the couch.
It was surprisingly comfortable.
We had eggs for breakfast and more coffee.
I'm back at home now, and Charlotte leaves for California tomorrow. It was really nice to get out, and live in the city again if just for a day. I feel like every day should be so great.
and its funny
because Char and I are quite different but get along so well. I feel thankful that we were put together as roommates during that first year. Some people have nightmarish roommate experiences, but I've met a friend for life. :)
